Siavosh Soleymani, a veteran Azeri journalist, was arrested by the agents of the Revolutionary Guards’ Intelligence Organization on October 1 in his home in the northwestern city of Urmia in West Azerbaijan province and was taken to an unknown location following protests over the death of the 22-year-old Mahsa Amini while in the custody the Morality Police.
Siavosh Soleymani is the president of Azerbaijan Civil Identity Society and the editor-in-chief of Chichest News website which has been banned by the government. He fought in the 1980s war between Iran and Iraq and lost a brother in the same war.
