Reza Valizadeh In prison

Reza Valizadeh is a journalist and the manager of Baznegar (“Re-write”) website; he was arrested by undercover agents in Tehran in November 2007.

Allegedly, the reason for the arrest was a report on the website that told the story of a pack of trained dogs purchased to protect and guard the Supreme Leader.

The agents called first and then went to his office in order to hand over a court summons, but took him into custody under the charges of “Conspiracy against National Security” and “Disturbing Public Peace”. On December 4th 2007, he was released on a US$50,000 bail. He has left the country since and currently works for Radio Farda (“Radio Tomorrow”).
