Iman Behpasand, political commentator, columnist, and women’s issues reporter was kidnapped and arrested by unidentified security agents at his home at midnight of Thursday, September 22, 2022.

According to the website Sar Khat, it seems that after entering his home, security agents forced him to stay silent by threating him with firearm or another weapon and even a friend who was spending the night at his home did not wake up.

Behpasand was allowed only to leave a note, saying that he was going out to do something and would call later. The imprint of the handcuff was clearly visible on the note.

Security agents arrested him and another friend of his and confiscated his mobile phone.

After two days when his whereabouts were not known, he was allowed to call his father and told him that he was being held at Evin Prison.
